The car industry is struggling atm.
I just hope for Land Rovers sake it isn't the big fail the Navara based Merc ute has been.
Only 16,000 sold worldwide so far [emoji50]

I don't think you can put the 2008 60th anniversary Defender SVX in the same light as the current marketing/Pricing approach JLR has for SVO made vehicles. SVO was relaunched in 2014 so the 2008 Defender SVX was made by Land Rover itself and they just threw in some diff locks, leather heated seats amongst a few other things and charged accordingly. it went for $63,320.
The next Defender SVX that was done was for the James Bond movie "Spectre" and was collaboration between SVO and Bollinger. There were ten built all of which have sold between GBP115K and GBP325K from the worst undrivable version to the best. This is obviously meaningless as these are movie cars.
You've been on record saying that the defender will start from around $65K.
I expect it will not be LCT free. Every dollar over $67,525 (75,526 fuel efficient) incurs the 33% Luxury Car Tax. Obviously, at the lower end they will incur a very small amount of LCT but anything from SVO will be slugged big time.
