Looks like IT will have 17 inch wheels...

There are recent photos here of a heavily disguised possible new Defender. Both feature different tyre types but one looks like a Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure while the other looks like Goodyear EfficientGrip SUV. The only size they have in common is 17 inches so I assume that the vehicle in the photos has 17 inch wheels. With steel wheels as an option.

This is the first I have heard of 17 inch wheels, interesting if true, I would be happy with 18s but certainly cool if 17 steelies are avail. Thanks for posting.

We are allowing posts elsewhere but there...we'll be pretty tight on what happens.

Spud, why do you say that 17 is the only size these two tyre types have in common? I was just looking at a UK tyre website and both ranges seem to cover at least 16 through 20 inch rims.

If they are 17” rims,I bet they will only fit some models, those with the lower output engines,at a guess.

I just had a go at measuring the ratio of rim to tyre diameter from one of those white steel wheel shots. It is definitely hard to tell but if we think standard rubber is 32" then it's almost impossible for that pic to show 17" rims. Even 18" feels like a stretch based on that image, unless the tyres are closer to 30".

The white rim is at least 60% of the overall tyre height. If it's 17" then the tyre would be 29" or smaller.
