If you need 7-seats you probably wouldn't be using the cargo barrier, depends on your kids though.....
I run a 7-seater (not Land Rover) and have fitted a cargo barrier when I need to carry stuff for work.
I remember the 'carry on' on the forum when I mentioned this ! Difficult to get people in when the cargo barrier is fitted but I'm sure someone will try. The company that supplied it included a 'glass hammer' fitted to the rear along with a warning sign to state nobody to be carried behind the cargo barrier.

That's really the major downside with the unitary body construction.
Notice that they're all rounded or moulded, so you won't see one with a 'boxy design' .. like a Defer or Transit van.
The inner double skin walls(strength) and rounded corners(strength) for the unitary chassis is basically a requirement.
