That probably is close to real life....[bigrolf]
Unless you want to travel under the speed limit, country run, on the black top, unloaded,no accessories.
Bottom line is it needs a larger tank, particularly if towing or doing remote area travel.
Hopefully the after market guys will be onto it.
That was in a RRS, completely different vehicle
Based on this @ 9.9L it gives 900km blacktop range stock. Which is plenty for road any day of the week.
Maybe 1/3 off that for off-road touring or 600km range.
40L in a poly and your sorted and only 45kgs added.
Giving you approx 985km offroad range without a long range tank.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...229a28171a.jpg
European standard is 95RON.
Australian standard was set at 91 as our oil refineries at the time werer optimised for 91.
I sat next to the bloke who set the standard once on a flight from Thailand to OZ.

Yup - it is a different vehicle - but JLR claim the RRS with P400 economy at 8L/100
Real world testing it gets 14.5l/100
Does that mean in the defender claiming 9.9 that real world will be 16-17!!!!!!
BR once you have your new jalopy.
Let’s find a pub 850km from your place
You get there on the main tank I’ll buy the beers!!!

Cant see any 8s here.
Also a journalist thrashing it is not real world..driving up the freeway is real world.

My mistake
I found the 30.7mpg on a US spec sheet and so did conversion according to US gallons (just under 8L/100)
Either way I agree the 14s is probably a good flog number but the question is:
Journalist Flogging < or > low range +/- soft sand @ GVM on 91RON
My guess is in touring spec you will be using 14-15 as a burn number?
As you say not the end of the world but another 50-60L would be nicer.
