Agreed the new def has huge opourity in the states, thats why they have been going all out in the states, The cruiser is the only thing that would come close to the new defender in that list, but still in a very different league of vehicle. If thats the US's top 15, I'm glad i live in AU.Quote:

Being Ford and being American built are not good things in my opinion.
It won't have air suspension probably won't tow much like the Ranger Raptor.
If the shape is anything like that buggy it's going to look quite similar to the new defender in a few ways.
Agree, It will probably sell well in the states and maybe even sell like the FJ Cruiser around the world.
But the new Bronco is a little bit off topic for a new defender thread.. it will be interesting to see all the new 4x4s come on the market in the next few years.
There’s no such thing as ‘American’ culture. It’s one of the most culturally diverse continents on the planet. ...this includes car culture. At a guess I’d say that more people than the entire population of Australia would like a mid sized AWD family SUV like Defender.

Actual off pavement use of vehicles is minimal compared to Australia
By “off road culture” I was indicating the people who ride trails like the Rubicon / Desert Racing / Moab. The ones who could possibly benefit from the off-road features of a JLR product
But they will in my understanding jump at the new Bronco or Jeep offerings over JLR
When it comes to SUV wagon sales the new defender is tiny compared to a Suburban or Navigator - it will be deemed medium size SUV
