Did Land Rover make the New Defender right?
The old defender sold 5k to the public on average per year in its last few years, compared to the worldwide market and numbers they will no doubt sell in, its a drop in the ocean.
All things considered, LR did what needed to be done to the defender to keep it viable, imo anyone that says otherwise may not be considering ALL the facts rationally.
There are some that say LR should have kept the old def, its too lux, too tech or shouldve kept the squared shape or coils or solid axles etc etc. Others are happy with the new one.
Please without this turning into another slinging match, respectfully what would you have done the same or explain what you would have done differently when redesigning the defender whilst taking into account it has to be sold in all markets(aim for 150-200k per year), with current and future emissions restrictions in mind, current and future safety (both occupant and pedestrian) in mind, keeping iconic features whilst being modern, being utilitarian, tough, durable, capable and reliable whilst still being comfortable.
So if you were LR, what would you have done the same or differently and why, but please only post after considering all the factors involved (the above is not all but a small portion) just like LR would have and showing the rationale behind what you would do differently if anything.
