I saw my first one in Orange this afternoon. Silver with black and it looks a million times better in the flesh. I was so impressed with it, it looks super comfy, it looks massive and it looks super strong. I'm a fan.

One dislike is the rear lights arrangement, but they also look better in the flesh. I notice the rear corners look like corner panels that could one day be developed in to really nice corner light clusters. Perhaps the same company that centralised the Discovery Sport number plate may do the same.

I noticed a radiator behind the DS brake duct for something. The body already looks tricky to fit a bullbar, this may make it a bit more tricky. Quite a vulnerable spot for a radiator.

I'm really impressed by the one I saw.
    Cheers

I sit here wondering about the new 'Defender'. It's a funny thing. Traditional Defender drivers are (largely)apoplexed that it's been given that moniker, as it seems once removed from what it was. Namely an expeditionary vehicle capable of being modified to suit the needs of the owner. However go out west and most Cockies driving a Defender never return the 'wave' as they don't see it as particularly special,...just another vehicle to get the job done. Which brings me to my next pint/point,..... I really can't see the new Defender being driven by those not so well heeled. As my eldest son said upon seeing in a carpark,..."It's a soccer Mum's car", and I have to agree. I've just received a new hub replacement kit and will fit next week, I see others are fitting auto boxes and even new/different engines(Puma 2.2), I can't even imagine doing that to the new Defender, and that makes all the difference!

They say that about every new vehicle that LandRover produces. Then with time, well, they're not so different.

The New Defender can be spotted on the Dakar Rally as a support car for the BRX team.

A Black Defender turned up at a Victorian 4WD shop today...

Owner has already fitted sensors to extend the ride height (like a D4 I guess).

He wants more so is looking at control arms.

We enquiring on a 2nd battery system. It’s a D400 so has the mhev system. Looking at a lithium battery, side mounted.

Is looking at removing the muffler and installing a 35ltr tank in that spot..

    So they ARE out there...

    Cheers,
    I know nothink!

The owner of the Coffee roasters next to my office has bought a P400. He owns quite a collection including a G wagon. $180K on the road with all the options. He loves it and says it is a much nicer drive than the Mercedes but at those dollars I would hope so.
