The 2.0 litre has been dropped and there are 2 x 3.0 litre straight sixes now. One is 300hp and the other 250hp hence the D300 and D250 nomenclature. They appear to be the same engine with different tunes.
Hi all - someone posted up a item about LR replacing the 2 litre diesel with the old 3.0 TDV6 in some of the LR lineup. I have searched but cannot find this post - maynot be in the Defender section - any one know where I can find this post.
Thanks
Garry

The TDV6 3.0L has recently been dropped completely from all LR models.
It was never in the new Defender.

Yes I know all that but it was not the question.
Someone in the past few weeks posted an article that said the 2 litre diesel was to be dropped and replaced with the 180kw TDV6 as the base engine as it was only slightly more powerful than the 2 litre. The higher power I6 straight 3 litre diesels would continue in higher spec versions. Not sure if this applied to the Defender or some other models like the D5.
Not saying the article is true - just trying to track it down to see if the author has misunderstood and is confused with the I6.

Try page 3 - should answer your questions? 3.0 Diesel Ingenium now in 3 states of tune - 147, 183 and 220 kW. No such thing as a 2.0 diesel in the Defender.

That was a 2018 post on the L494 forum which someone recently replied to after almost 3 years.
Can't help with the post you're looking for but the TDV6 is not offered in any model (or TDV8 for that matter). All the full size models only come with an I6 3.0L diesel or Petrol tuned for the relevant output for the spec with the I4 2.0L Petrol also being used in the Defender and RR Sport . The smaller models (Velar (also I6 P400), Evoque and Disco Sport) only use the I4 variants both petrol and diesel. The FFRR and RRS get the V8 supercharged of coarse.
I think that covers it. No TDV6 or TDV8 in the line up anymore as far as I can see. So, either you miss read or, the article is wrong or, .... I've missed something
Cheers,

I've read articles where they misname an I6 and call it a TDV6.

In this case it was a resurrected post with a reference to the MY19 RRS replacing the SD4 with the SDV6.
Whilst JLR have dropped the TDV6, Ford are pushing ahead with the 2022 Ranger expected to also get the improved and upgraded 3L TDV6.
A dual cab Ute with the TDV6 - noice!
