Many tyre shops open the door on any vehicle with EAS,when doing a wheel alignment, which as we know is not the correct thing to do.
Nothing on the UK sites about doing it properly?
In the past, when I took my D4 in for a wheel alignment I had to specify that the alignment was done with the suspension in TTM (tight tolerance mode). I could use my Gap IID Tool to set it myself if required.
I understand that there is also a "trick" to do this in the D5 (Something like open the door, close your left eye, start the the motor and clap three times 😉 Is there a similar ritual that can set the TTM for the new Defender?
What are people with new Defenders doing when seeking a wheel alignment? It does not appear that there is a Gap Tool for the defender yet. Do we trust the wheel aligners to be able to do it properly?

Here is the procedure to set TTM for the D5, L494, L405 and the L663 Defender.
The engine must be running,
Ensure the gear selector is in Park,
Ensure normal height is selected,
Open the driver’s door,
Gently (not abruptly) press then fully release the brake pedal 3 times,
Close the driver’s door within 10 seconds of the first press of the brake pedal.

Yes that’s it. Thanks. The drawback is that the suspension reverts to standard when the engine is turned off. Thus an alignment is done with the engine running and I wouldn’t like to be the one to suck the fumes. The Gap tool or OBD method allows the engine to be turned off and on as required.
