    Harry's Garage roundup of 2021

Those who follow this chap's youTube channel might be surprised by this given the range of interesting and exotic vehicles he drives and reviews.

    The most audience-watched vehicle was:

    LOL!

I just watched that vid .. I don't normally watch Harry's Garage, but it came up in a list, and was curious about the XJ-C finish and garage roundup. I briefly watched part of the engine rebuild back then .. but as I said don't follow the channel.

Reason I laughed tho, was that just as I closed down the Youtube page and opened up AULRO .. I was going to post a quick(maybe cheeky) thread on something he said in that XJ-C finish video .. about the Yaris.

At about the 16 minute mark he talks about it, how it came to them early 21(so obviously new) .. how they use it as a spare/runabout .. and it's typical Toyota .. you can trust it, it's dependable .. blah, blah.

Brand new Toyota .. you'd damned well expect it to be dependable and problem free. How they upgraded the suspension .. no problems, this isn't unusual.

But barely 1 minute after explaining how trustworthy and dependable it is .. he explains how they had to do an early service on it, and partly because it dropped down to 3 cylinders every now and then .. or something to that effect.
Turned out it burned out a coil as he described it .. errr, yeah .. totally dependable.

So the reason for why I was going to post this in a thread, is: Do Toyota owners just buy into this notion that they are totally reliable .. no matter the reality?
You would think that a chap like Harry, who owns a lot of nice cars .. many of which are not really 'dependable' .. in anything only dependable in that they will break down in some way at some not so distant point in time!

Yet he deluded himself into the idea that the Yaris, a few months old vehicle, already having an issue is so easy to dismiss .. maybe because it was covered under warranty .. it's really not an issue.

It is a weird situation this "toyota mindedness"

This thread has become a Toyota bashing thread.....how about we take the Toyota stuff out and return it to the "mostly" interesting L663 Defender thread?
