19" or 20" wheel option (oh goody another tyre thread)

So the wheel options for the D300 SE spec are default 20" or optional 19". (I would have preferred 18" wheels but the S spec is no longer available. I also know that a caliper conversion can be done to fit 18s).

It seems that tyre choice for 19" wheels is limited as compared with 20" wheels. I'd prefer down the track to fit LT spec tyres like BFG KO2 (with stronger sidewalls) and that suggests R20 tyres given what I've been able to glean with regards to manufacturers. So going to a 275/55R20 as opposed to the standard 255/60R20 will give me a close match diameter wise and open up the brand choices.

    Thoughts?

I made the mistake of spec’ing 19” when I ordered, limited to the LR OEM GY and nothing else. With 20’s there is
at least some choice, such as BFG, believe also some have fitted grapplers, but best check the ND FB groups and
    respective “tyre threads” ..

mine has been a very costly exercise to move to 18”

If I choose to do the 18" Tuffant caliper and wheel conversion am I better off specifying the 19" wheel vs the 20" wheel from the point of view of selling the original wheels?

265/50R20 is undersize for the L663 whereas 275/55R20 isn't and there are lots of options in this size.
