Installing Loadspace partition net in New Defender 90?

    Hi,

I purchased the loadspace partition net (LR133512) to install in my new Defender 90 and tried to install it myself. However, the online instructions are useless. The installation guide says that I need to remove a bolt at the front of the front seat rails (such that I can lift the rails to fit a kit underneath at the back of the rails). However, this bolt DOES NOT EXIST in my car.

Has anyone installed this loadspace partition net? Or does anyone know of updated installation instructions? I can only find these instructions, which seem to be outdated: LAND ROVER ACCESSORY FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
    Any help is welcome, thanks!

The seat has to be bolted down somehow. Is there not some form of cover over where the bolt lives?

Possibly. Below is a photo of the the front part of the rail, no bolts visible. Maybe there is something underneath the plastic cover but I am unable to open it.

Yes I see the instructions are rubbish. What’s under the section to the left? Is it possible the mount is offset?

There is this plastic cap underneath the backside of the rail. We managed to unscrew that bolt and tried to remove the cap as per instructions. But while the cap is loose, it cannot be removed since the rail cannot be lifted.

I emailed Land Rover but after 4 days no reply. If I cannot figure it out, I guess I will need to ask Land Rover to install it for me, which will likely cost quite some $$$.

Is it possible that they have changed the front bolt design, and now have a stud welded into the rail which is unbolted from underneath?

Maybe, will have a look underneath the car. Did not realise it would be so difficult to install a simple net.

    The solution

Below an update for anyone else in Australia who would be interested in the Loadspace Partition Net for the new Defender 90.

We took our car to the Landrover Dealer in Sydney to install the net. After one hour they said that it was not for the Defender 90 but only for the 110. That was wrong, it clearly is for the Defender 90 as shown in this link:
LAND ROVER ACCESSORIES - Land Rover Defender - INTERIOR - INTERIOR PROTECTION - Loadspace Partition Net - 90Another hour later the technician said that the installation kit did not fit and that it was not for Australian vehicles. That was wrong, the link above is for the Australian market and they sell the net and kit at another Landrover dealer in Melbourne. However, while it is available in Australia, and it fits the vehicles, it is seeminly not approved in Australia. This is the reason why the technician could not find an installation manual in their books despite it being available online from the Landrover website. After sending him the link to the manual, the technician was able to install it (after almost 4 hours of waiting!).

So the net definitely fits. I do not know how the technician removed the bolt at the front of the rails, but the technician was able to do it in the end.
