    Traxide Isolator

Has anyone installed a Traxide Battery Isolator in their new Defender?

Looking to run an Anderson plug to back of D300 to charge Van.

What other options have been used for Anderson plug and where have these run from?

our P400 which is a MHEV model as well had the Anderson cabled from the battery under the front seat, the
cable was run under the interior trim (which had to be pulled off) and out through a grommet under the rear door
into the external tow area. The work was done by the local LR preferred auto electrician company who do all
there work.. according to the invoice they fitted a Redarc smart start isolator, our caravan had its own
    dc/dc charger ..

Yes I recall seeing your previous post on this and you used a LR recommended mob in Brookvale. I have had a quote from them to do both Anderson Plug and Brake controller (Redarc) and although I asked for them to split into the 2 items, only received a single cost. I have twice asked for the cost of the Anderson plug alone without any response. From what I have seen, the Brake controller is basically a plug-and-play and fairly simple DIY. Given they do not seem interested, I will probably take back to where I had this done on my D4, although still keen to understand any experiences with the Traxide product.

We used them as we ordered our Defender from Jamie at LR Northern Beaches, and the sparks were their preferred
supplier, we used to live around the corner in Narrabeen. Have you seen the post from Tate Needham on the
Aus FB owners group on the simple brake controller install..a photo installation guide

If it's a MHEV, would it be easier to take power from the terminals under the cargo area rather than from the battery under the front seat? I assume using the same terminals as this fella takes power from for his dual battery install Dual Battery Wiring Landrover Defender D300 MY22 - YouTube. I'm no authority here - just making assumptions.

I left it up to the auto sparks, they had already done a couple of MHEV and I certainly was not
up to speed on the best options

Yes, that is why I just wanted a quote for the Anderson plug as I reckon I can do the Brake Controller myself.

BTW, Jamie is leaving NB LR on 24th Aug. He and Vanessa have been good with their communication over our 'journey' since my direct contact with them in Dec 21.

Yep, agreed that's what I reckon as well. He seems to take the power from a Bus Bar in that compartment.

I was also looking also to see if anyone had installed a Traxide in the Defender or is this not a thing?

that would have saved a few ripped finger nails if they had gone from the bus bar in the rear rather than the
battery which required all the plastic trim to be pulled from the passenger compartment
