Discounts on New Defender in Australia

What amount of discount that you negotiated when buying a new L663?

I'm looking at a base model 110 D250 for about RRP $115K and would like to know what is a good price to offer?

When I bought mine, I asked the same. Answer is nil, the price new is what it is. Better of trying to get some accessories thrown in, rubber floor mats, rear cargo space net, etc.

To my knowledge, for buying to new order, there is next to no negotiating or discounting happening these days.

For buying near new used or demo etc off the floor, there is more room to move as things like payment of stamp duty etc start coming in to play.

Surprising .. thought it might be about 10% off like some of the euro brands. Thanks.

Nope. Mine was built to order, so no discount. All i got was the new defender Lego set thrown in, a nice hamper and champagne upon collection.

Was the same when I bought my Subaru Impreza new, no discounts.

Only on second hand vehicles do you get to negotiate prices.

Discounts on New Defender in Australia

Dealer new stock which is already here can also be negotiable, but the challenge with something like the Defender is finding one with the specs, options and colour you want. The longer it has been on display the more likely you are of being able to negotiate a lower price - especially when a new model year comes available.

One dealer in Victoria has a still new and yet to be first registered September 23 built MY24 D250 S 110 on display which I am sure will eventually sell well below the asking price as it is competing against higher spec 2024 built cars also in stock which are at a similar price point. So do look closely for new cars in stock if you want to negotiate. With MY25.5 now on offer for new builds then existing stock of MY24 will need discounting to sell.

A car broker may also have access to discounts either by under cutting the sales persons commission, or having access to fleet discounts, or by tracking down a vehicle already here that the dealer is prepared to discount to move on. It is the sales commission cut that is being negotiated down by the broker and passed on for a fee.

Land Rovers are a low volume market so much more challenging to negotiate compared to other high volume car companies, but dealers can still compete with each other, and if the car is already here then these become negotiable.
