But that may not be an issue depending what you want the vehicle for.
it is not a concern as off roading is not what I want a vehicle for.

As per my original post if you bothered to read it the requirements are spelled out quite clearly.
    thanks for your interest anyway.

My 2023 P400SE was 147k drive away including gst, lct, rego and all options. This was just post covid, ordered in 2021. Probably paid a premium, but hey, yolo as my kids say.

A base spec ex demo prado is just over 90k (my neighbour has one) and they're boring as b#£s%#÷/t, plus can't even get up a small hill without engaging the centre diff..

300series is North of 130k and thats before options and any upgrades you may select.

The HSE XE may be top spec, if all your looking for is towing and comfort, the base D350 SE in 110 size would come in cheaper than a new 300 series

I could do the engine rebuild path on the old D3. QP in the UK can provide fully machined / recon 2.7 landed for around $10k then you would need to source other bits.
HPFP, oil cooler etc for while you are in there.

    Probably $15 - 17k
My body work and interior is still quite good though it need roof and bonnet repainted.

That would be one option. Just keep driving what I have. Budget $5 - 8k a year for repairs.

I did the numbers on getting a Novated lease for a L663 with D350 engine. HSE ends up with a $78k bubble at end of 3 year lease, SE $65k. The impact on fortnightly cashflow and the residual at end steers me away from the L663 as much as my heart loves it the brain and pocket have to be pragmatic.

For what I need I am down to keep the old D3 going into my retirement which has its risks or get the Ford Everest in say 12 months.
The NL and residual on the Everest platinum is very doable. Residual I think was $36k.

Not much, just a few more horses when pushed and the D300 can be remapped to D350 specs anyway, at least for pre-MY26 vehicles. I wanted an e-diff in a used D300/D350 L405, which only came with the D350.

Even a D300 shorty/90 might suffice as IIRC the OP doesn't have a large family.
