I really liked our 95 300Tdi and wish we had kept it as we didn't get much trade-in on the Defender.

    Early discovery

I recently purchased a may 91 discovery 2 door from an old couple who had it since new. Low Ks, service history and stock standard.

Any chance you could post up some photos for posterity? If it is the one in your avatar, I think I saw it on Gumtree and it had full side decals I hadn't seen before - with a compass on?

The 'Compass' cars were the Orienteer Pack IIRC.

Feb '91 is when the Disco first appeared at JRA (I was a 2nd yr app). All the original press cars had RRX### number plates & the MD took one home the first night with the Land Rover badges taped up.

Until a couple of years ago there used to be a blue 3 door Disco driving around Warrnambool that had the "compass" decals on it. LRT

Found a picture of the Orienteer pack (at the rear):

It's hard to find much information on - it can't have lasted long.

From memory, the Orienteer came out after a few months of the launch of the Disco here. I can only assume that LR thought potential buyers were holding back until the release of the 5 door model with the 92MY & tried to jazz up the 3 door version.
If that was the case, your ad would make sense with the standard 5 door alongside a fancy 3 door.

I actually have what appears to be an incomplete set of new Compass decals. There's some damage to one decal but if there's someone here who has an Orienteer & will use them, send me a PM.

I thought the wheels on the 3 door were a late model thing, learn something new everyday

A '91 Orienteer has popped up on Gumtree. I'll post the pics for posterity; it looks fairly original.

The ad says it is one of 75, anyone know how true that is?
