I agree with most of what he says.

He should avoid the gags though!

I hit the horn button all the time. Must be my big hands. And it is hard to see the guages. I prefered the V8 to the diesel after test driving them both, but I was extremely impressed with the TD5 at the time of purchase! Still liked getting back in my V8 after the numerous warranty periods where I had the loan Td5 !

I do find him quite irritating - I think that it's the way he speaks

Apparently, he's on good terms with the Top Gear presenters and is a long time personal friend of James May.

When the last Stig (Ben Collins) was fired for writing that exposé book, he stood-in for a couple of episodes, as the "Emergency Stig"

its funny how 5th gear is a proper car show with comentators that can actually drive and has no where near the ratings of top Gear,
which is not really a car show,,
its a talk show about cars.

and this season is only , what? 6 episodes?:(

Have seen that before. Should have driven the 5sp v8.

I have never found the wheel a problem even compared to my new EUro which has one of the best wheels out there. I don't hit the horn.

Nice vehicle sympathy in driving fast through salt water.

 Cheers

Ps. He might have been a great race car driver but it does not help the way he comes across to my mind in a lot of reviews. At least he says nothing does it off road like a LR

oh and how about the offroad ability of driving through the surf!! is that a gravel hill? OMG most capable landrover ever!

I may be a bit biased but that was a crap review.

Top gear has turned to absolute crap. Huge budget with even bigger ego's

I think it was an acurate test on the D2 back then, Tiff Needel is a brilliant drive and vehicle tester, if I only had 1/4 of his driving talent I'd be happy.

I also love 5th Gear, because it is a real car testing show, Clarkeson gives me the ****s:mad: and is why I can't watch Top Gear.

As the Australian ratings suggest ... I think we've all had our fill of Top Gear. Of course ... Channel 9 didn't help buy mixing up the new series with the old (instead of playing 'em back to back), but I think the format has had it's run.

I still find the specials entertaining however the gags are starting to look more and more set-up ... how many more times can you run into the back of James May's car and still find it funny!

His comment about the steering wheel blocking off the bottom half of the instrument cluster is so true. From my driving position I cannot see the LCD screen on the instrument cluster, I have to push myself up and lean forward. It is annoying.

Have you tried tilting the steering wheel down ? I can see (just) all my instruments through the top 1/2 of the steering wheel, incl' the LCD screen, and can see most of the idiot lights.
