    Cool video.

I have not followed the new defenders at all because I really do hate them,
but 2471kg for a 90 , OMFG thats absolutely bonkers . The Iveco Daily 4x4 only weighs 2700kg. ( I note the Grenadier is almost as heavy which puts it out of contention for me. )

New cars are heavy due to people wanting sound deadening and authorities wanting safety.

They are full of useless crap that clever marketing has made people think they want, but no one actually needs.
Crumple Zones are lighter than a rigid chassis, Airbags literally weigh nothing . There is no excuse , it should be around 2000kg, good luck keeping it under GVM with all the crap people take away for a weekend.

interesting comment , when I bought my Ranger...single cab /chassis , I manufactured a set of drawers to go in the back...six fairly big drawers accessible from dropsides.

in the first couple of years , the drawers were chockers with all the stuff I might need but now I'm only using 4 . Everywhere you go now , there is fresh food and good meals/coffee/ snacks available which I always took with me in the past.

even the fridge is now lightly loaded , and beer and ice seem to be readily available most places.

the only thing I carry plenty of now is water.

last trip I didn't even put the drawers on , the module is removeable and mostly lives in the shed, and I have alternative storage. I will probably sell it now.
