It ain't over just yet!!!
G'day All,
Well it ain't over just yet, it has to pass inspection next weekend :) I hope it will be just a formality.
I still have to do door tops x 2, still tossing up whether to use a couple of good S/hand ones I have, or use the NOS that I bought about 7 years ago from Andersons @ Pialba, Qld.
This afternoon I ratted out some small fittings that I bought from Blanchards about 2 years ago, to remake a Vac/advance tube Distributor<<>>Carburettor, it was a fiddley job using my fat boy burner

I couldn't see the flame outside, so I had to move it all inside the shed so I could adjust it to a weak flame, anyway it all worked out well ( I hope!!)

the proof will be in the tightening up, also must remember to put something on the thread, I dont want it growing into the NOS carburettor:o.
Now to answer a couple of questions,
Juddy,, door sealing rubbers,, I tried several well known suppliers in the UK all told me that the genuine articles were no longer available, so I used what I could get from Clark rubber, and no the door sealing rubbers are the same on Series 2/2A all over the globe, nothing unique to Oz,, juddy may I ask where you got yours from???
Digger,, Yes & Yes, the 2 x 5 pointed stars will be replaced asap, and the bottle opener has been replaced with a genuine Coca-Cola one that I bought from the USA, now this is my assumption, they would have fitted one way back then, if they could have got their hands on one!! LOL, hopefully 113-372 will make this years Anzac Day parade.
Rednjoey, mate I'm really sorry that your going to miss my posts re 113-372, please dont start a collection to buy me something else, as what you can find on the net regarding my Land Rovers has cost me 12 years of my life, I think I need to spend more time driving them (and my 110) rather than working on them LOL, as we all know (or should know, It's Never Over, In a Land Rover:angel::wasntme:) Gee if only I was 20 years younger:(:(
Mary aka Mallefowl thanks for the compliments, but as I've always stated I'm just a mug who doesn't recognise that what I've done is good enough!!
Mrs H & co well I am rather surprised that I had pipped you at the 1/2 way mark LOL, I think I said in a post somewhere that if I had the work area and the helping hands that front up at your place at times, it would have been finished a long time ago,LOL I also acknowledge that you n Harry have a 101:twisted: and have transformed it along with your daily runner (S3) anyway "it ain't quite over yet";) cheers Dennis
PS Yes it does have OIL in the gearbox & transfer case:D;):p and everywhere it's supposed too as well!!! and I do have Oxygen/Acetylene but it's getting damn expensive to use on small jobs,,.
