    It is a Landy thing. It is an indication your choke is pulled out. Check choke switch and wiring behind the dash

    Cold start light from memory is operated by a switch arrangement on the flex cable to the carby.
    The switch is not the most high tech or reliable thing around.
    The light nas no other function.

    That sounds on the right track, I oiled all the carb binkages so maybe its run into the switch, I've had a dozen or more Land Rovers in the UK, a lot diesel and I dont think I have had a petrol where that amber light worked !

    Hi all

    Update on the list of these vehicles. I now have "Ebay dec 08: 25335831G" :-)
    Looked at it a week ago, looked at it again on Friday and bought it.
    It's in reasonable condition. I had better join REMLR now :-)

    As mentioned earlier I have just acquired a Series 2a Workshop and here are some details and pics. I have quite a few things to fix on it before its driveable and able to get historic plates.
