That donut is an absolute pearl'er ... I've got 1 ride that's got a mongrel 80 odd Ltr tank between the wheel arches ... I'm removing it all, as the Tank chews up all the load space & the gas mixer is a horror / killed the torque n power.
Been thinking sequential and donut for it's future replacement ...

that is an awesome looking setup and is exactly what I want to do with my car. I got a quote from Blue LPG for an Icom 680 x 270 65lt usable LPG vertical donut tank for a bit less than 1K. I am told (by the LPG warehouse) that Icom is the only brand of tank available in Australia in this configuration, is that one in your mates car an Icom bee utey?
I've still had no luck finding a second hand one of these but I'll keep looking as the Injection kit from Marrelli hasn't turned up yet.

Yep that's the Icom tank.
A local Ford wrecker says he does get them but every one sells quickly. He gets $250 for them, :eek::eek::eek: I wonder why they sell quickly. Anyway he's Athol Park Auto Wreckers, (08) 8341 1122. He didn't want to reserve one for me.:(
Well I have my new donut tank and injection system and am doing a little of the work myself (on arrangement). I am going to manufacture a tank bracket myself but am wondering about what anchor points to use in the back of the classic as this will influence the design of said bracket.
Beeutey, perhaps you have fitted the vertical donut to your mates classic by now??? Can you give me a heads up on what my bracket will need to be compliant? The tank I have is an identical icom with the 3 tapped 'holes' on each side.
I was thinking of a small cradle for tank to sit in with a 50x5mm strap around the circumfrence but that's where my design comes to a halt without some help. Does it need to be braced across to the wall of the car, and the cradle-do the bolts have to be placed anywhere in particular?

Oh and I have ordered a pair of O2 sensors from Island 4x4 for the retro fit and also sourced a North American spec fault code reader on US ebay.
The bracket that came with mine is basically a set of straight pieces of 50 x 6 flat steel. The horizontal parts bolt to the floor as required. The tank is held to the bracket by 4 vertical 50 x 6 pieces attatched to the 4 bolt holes closest to the floor, ie the ones front and rear when placed correctly. For fore-aft bracing one bracket from the closest (rear) bolt hole goes to the wheel arch. You could brace back to the floor part of the bracket with a diagonal piece or two. Imagine two capital letter "M" shaped brackets either side of the tank. No strap around the tank is needed as the 4 bolt holes are all that is legally needed to restrain the tank, ie AS1425 says 4 bolts minimum are required to anchor a tank.Quote:

I use 3mm thick galv plates direct from my wholesaler and cut/shape to fit. Don't use sharp edged 6mm plates as they will can-opener the floor under severe load.

Richard , just checking that you are aware that 14CUX uses Titania sensors but nearly all LPG systems use Zirconia sensors.Quote:

So the sensors will work with a 14CUX but not stand alone with gas AFAIK. Maybe there is a selection in the software but I doubt it seeing Titania are so unusual.
They will of course give the correct injector signals to the petrol/fuel injectors if the gas is slaved off the 14CUX.
