Guys, I think it is important to realise why the stickers / plates are there for LPG installs.
If your car is involved in a prang, the fire service need to know that you have a gas system fitted. This is so that they can isolate the gas at the tank, should there be a problem, or a leak.
Now, metal v's plastic - simple really. Even if the number plate is blackened, and unreadable, a raised metal diamond in the middle of the plate is going to tell them LPG. If it is vinyl, plastic or whatever else, there is a good chance that it wont be noticeable during a fire.
Take it from me, there is nothing quiet as unsettling as standing next to a car that is on gas, that has run into a tree, the battery is shorting out internally, and we cant get to the isolation valve on the gas....
