A carburettor ices up because liquid petrol is being vapourised via the venturi, and the latent heat of vaporisation is being drawn from the air passing through it or the heated manifold base under the carby. LPG is vapourised in the thingy with the water hoses, and radiant heat does very little to a device designed to draw heat from the coolant passing through the unit.
