Seen the prices of motor spirits and disilate?
Anyone noticed the LPG prices lately?
Six weeks ago it was easy to get it at around 58c/l
Then it jumped to 79.9c/l around 2weeks ago, couple of independents had it for 76.
Today it is sitting at 91c/l WTF?
Mainly Caltex/Woolworths around our area, not much else around.....
Suppose they are doing the usual, testing the market to see what people will do.

If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
ULP is hovering round 150cpl on the Northside.

LPG does seem to have risen more (percentage wise) than petrol recently. We were having a chat about this the other day - Petrol goes up and down like a yo yo, Diesel seems to sit fairly steady, and rise steadily as the average price of petrol rises, and for some reason, LPG seems to have gone through the roof lately - don't know why, but it must be making it hard for people that do LPG conversions I would think
Currently prices around here are about $1.34 for ULP, $1.44 for Diesel and $0.72 for LPG.

The wholesale price went up 8.7 cpl March 1.
I just took 110 litres @ 72 cpl less the Woolies discount.
Wont see that again this month
The people who do LPG conversions are more concerned by the price difference. Its all a case of how you look at it. I'm in the LPG industry & it ( the LPG scene) gets bad PR, its hard to follow some of the logic. I was speaking to a guy who was saying "thank god I just got rid of my dedicated gas Falcon" as the price has spiked. He then went on to say how it didn't get near the mileage & had to fill it twice a week & the new car only gets filled once a week. He was the type that kept detailed data so I asked what was his weekly fuel bill? -$120.00 on gas, so I asked what is it now? - $185.00. Even with the LPG price spike he would still be well ahead..
Has anyone noticed the price of COOKING OIL lately!?

OK,now when i went to school, when you added 58 to say 9,it didn't add up to anything like 79,yet alone 91!
As i have said, they seem to up it to test the market,& Caltex always seem to do it first, around here.
They can't push it up much higher,as once it gets anywhere near $1.00cpl,for most people,it won't be worth using.
This increase will also be a good reason for cabby's to put up their prices.

like Deejay says it is the 'difference' between ULP and LPG that makes all the difference. If you get what i mean.
LPG needs to stay a certain % under ULP to make it attractive. But at the moment LPG has gone up nearly 40% overnight whereas ULP has gone up maybe 8% (making the payback period ie number of km needed to recoup instalation cost just go up to)
I thought that they used to keep LPG around 35% of the ULP price.
