I've had mine on gas for 3 years and once fitted you'll never go back, the gas makes a huge difference. Pat
Looking at installing a good quality LPG Gas unit to my 98 model 130 300TDI. Anyone with some performance results after doing like wise. As in, fuel consumption, power, and reliability.

I have a lpgas 1 setup with its own ecu , Personaly i wouldnt bother the guy i bought the car off paid 4g for the set up , the price and the gains in my opinion are not worth it , Oh and i dont bother i have just pulled the fuse on minethe price of lpg is just going to keep going up your call to spend your money
I have done a few 300tdi's using my own design setup, cheap and effective, you get 25% more power or 10% less running cost, based on lpg being 1/2 diesel price, which doesn't happen outside of the big cities. Your range is extended by the extra fuel. So long as you have an EGT gauge and keep turbo temps under a safe limit there's little risk to the engine or turbo.
Computer set-up lpg systems on 300tdi's are a waste of time, the only non electronic setup on the market that I know of is eco-shot, google them and ask about fitters in your area.

						SubscriberI have dieselgas version 1- fumigation on a 1996 defender 130 300TDi.
I put 1:2 transfer case in and loads of sound proofing. I wanted to tow camper at 110kph and still hear the wife nagging!
The Diese gas has its own control box and can be turned on and off. A 28 litre tank under drivers feet. Filler behind RHS rear door. Convertor on LHS under bonnet. Uses coolant to heat the convertor.
Gives more power and greater range depending how you drive. Only puts gas in when under boost.
Makes the TC ratio more usable and car as a whole better to drive.
Is meant to lower EGTs, less smoke, etc.
Never given trouble and i notice when gas runs out. One LPG fill to two diesel.
Was 4k but got govt rebate of 2k.
There is new direct LPG injection now that is even better
Have done 100,000k and would do it for 2k but probably not 4k.
Has caused issues getting rego done as places go, "not touching that it has gas on a diesel!"
Was done by KLR

Emissions testing for diesel gas systems has been available in Vic for a few years now, so any kit on the market should be able to prove certification if required. However I don't know of any kits tested for pre 2002 vehicles, as that is when the most recent diesel emissions rules started to apply.
Diesel gas kits have to comply with the national standard AS1425, same as for petrol kits.

Hi thanks for your comments but seeing as it is a Computer setup that I have the opportunity to buy s/h and in good condition what are the pit falls??Computer set-up lpg systems on 300tdi's are a waste of time, the only non electronic setup on the market that I know of is eco-shot, google them and ask about fitters in your area.

Mainly any computer setup will need to be adjusted by an agent of that kit, as no-one else will have the software. Also you may need to mount a TPS on the throttle so it has an input for required power output, check with the manufacturer of the kit before you purchase it.
