    rough at the lights!

    hi!
it runs fine, cruises well but when I put my foot on the break it sounds like its starving on lpg and as well as petrol.

it goes down to 500 rpm, sounds like its going to stall, then picks back up to 800, only to do it again 30 seconds later, and if we take off its really slow, and rough, any ideas?

I haven't had it serviced yet....any good LR service people anyone knows of in ballarat?

they might be able to pick up on the problem

    cheers

    Laurie

Have a look at the IAC (Stepper motor) if gunked up with carbon could play up. Remove and spray carby cleaner on the valve and in the hole. Also check the vacuum lines at rear that runs to Fuel reg ( rear of steeper motor on motor, it has a roughly 1/4 inch rubber hose, not easily seen, use you hand to feel.)

Drivers side, on side of plenum, a squarish plug with wires coming out of it.
unclip connector and unbolt it to remove.
    PIC link.

so cool roverlord.....I pulled that thing off, stepper thing....gave it a good clean, what I thought was a thread inside actually turned out to be a spring!

haha, junked up alright, should have seen the KR*P come out of it!

runs ok now, but seems to be getting better the further I drive, so the weekend will tell all!

heavy on the juice and gas, methinks a tune and service by someone who knows what they are doing vis a vis land rovers and the truck will be perfect!

(after I get the cruise sorted!)

    cheers

Hi Laurie did you spray some cleaner into the hole you took the stepper out of as that gunk on the steeper will also be in there. It'll smoke a bit after you start it.
The using lots of juice could also be leaking injectors, or a problem with the maf. A stuffed maf can enrich the mixture. Are your spark plugs carboned up also????

Cruise is usallay just a hose vacuum leak, check all sections of hose by sucking on them, no hold of suction will determine what part of hose. Also check the switches on pedal assebly, they are vacuum valcves, when pedal is up they should hold vacuum, and when pedal is pressed they exhaust vacuum.
The actual switch has a plunger on it, it is on a rachet, if it is not locking vacuum, you can carefully pull on ther plunger and pull it out slightly to ensude it touches the pedal.
Manual D1s have one on clutch pedal and one on brake pedal.

    hope this helps. cheers, Mario

    maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate!

bloody freezing we had 6 yesterday, as a maximum!

gotta tell you, the more I drive the disco, the better I like it!

so far it beats the patrol and the paj for comfort and ride including quietness

however, I filled up today with fuel and when the bowser shut off, about a litre sprayed out from under the car somewhere, and ran down over the petrol tank, so I gotta get that looked at too!

    cheers

    Laurie
