They are a pain in the rear bar. My P38A had it there but we moved it to have it co-located with the petrol filler. Yes, it will fit and there are brackets to allow that.
Bringing Disco 1 up for new rego and I need to replace the very rusty rear bumper. I have a good s/h bar now but the filling point on the old original one is right over the top of the right side bumper light. In addition, I am uncertain how to remove the fitting from the old bar. Three questions:
1 how is the old fitting removed without damaging it?
2 is there a better place to fit the filler, understanding the existing flex line is fairly short and I will have to cut a hole in the new bar to take it.
3 would it be advisable to pay a qualified mechanic for this job?
cheers, Mickl

AMR manufacturing make a very neat filler for inside the petrol flap, comes as a kit with a compact petrol cap. Part number RF 27 LRD. You'll need a new longer filler hose so you'll need a LPG fitter to do this for you.
