    Life of lpg injectors

Would anyone happen to know the average life of lpg injectors?

These ones are at least 10 years old this December.
I've had to replace one, but am now getting injector codes on 3 of them, and it's running pretty ordinary.
    I believe they're a good quality injector (a valtec type 37).

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
    Benji.

Injectors last as long as they last, sometimes 50K sometimes 200K. Depends on what goes through them, quality of LPG and quality of filters have a big influence. I'd be buying some metal body type 30 injectors myself, don't really like the plastic body stuff. Try this mob for size, their prices are pretty good:

I have two work vans here, both are around ten yrs old,and have done over 300 000k's.
    The LPG injectors are original.

The only thing that has been replaced on one of them is the converter.

What actually goes wrong with the gas injectors?
Not a great deal of working parts in a gas injector... Atleast not in the ones i have pulled apart which is only the ones i have on my d1.
All in all pretty easy to play with.

Failures I have observed in injectors:

Coil failure (open circuit), rarely, broken wires occasionally. I replaced one or two Impco BRC injectors at a hideous cost when they were slightly out of warranty. Other than that they're very reliable in general.

Bore and plunger erosion, due to dirt or poor manufacture. Zavoli unit injectors used to be bad for that. Plungers would stick in a wear step and flood intermittently.

Rubber end buffer failure, PRINZ and Zavoli rail injectors. One cylinder would then run as rich as hell, you could at least get service kits for Zavoli. PRINZ was another hideously dear injector to replace.

Valve seat wear causing leaking after shut down.

General gunking up, often fixable by back washing with carby cleaner.

    Plastic parts breakage, threads stripping.

That doesn't include manufacturing faults like rails with different strokes on individual injectors, I'd have to carefully file the ends of plungers to even them out. Some Chinese mob advertised some injectors on ebay a few years ago, very poor balance between injectors and I only bought them once for a try out. Worked OK after fiddling but too much work to get them right.

My most recent installs have all used AC Stag W01 injector rails, they're quiet and precise, and run on the same software settings as the Valtek injectors. Affordable too. I hate swapping brands as then I can't carry spares easily, not that I've had to replace any AC Stag ones yet.

Mine are the same as the pic above but are green in color.

20151122_164336.jpg Pic of me trying to dial the buggers in. Later worked out dialing old injectors dont work. Better of doing it by hear and feel.

I inquired about getting a kit for it and they said the unit i have had been superseded with a red set, i assume similar to above pic.

That was several years ago now.

I needed a new gas ecu for my Emer system. I used Tinleytech, in UK. They were great, responded quickly and well priced.
