    Bush Tucker Man's Land Rover

Hey, this question is for any Australians that were familiar with the old ABC TV show Bush Tucker Man, my question is, I know he drove a Landy, and it looks like a series III or a defender, but I want to know what it's specs and stuff were. For anyone that wants to refresh their memory, I'll post a link to a youtube vid where you can see it.

    Cheers, Gab

Isuzu 4BD1 powered 110 with 4 speed lt95 gearbox. These are currently being auctioned off and replaced with Merc G wagons.

there is 2 bush tucker vehicles--one is a civilian military spec provided by JRA to match the earlier shows.has winch.

I had to do the number plate shuffle when the line got out of sequence.
its a lot harder than you think to swap canopies-les has no OZ cam.

48-001 sat out in the yard for a few weeks before being reversed back up the line for photos.the photos in the paper was from the hand over in queensland-of the 1000 perentie--I had a yellow polo shirt and we had a party in the inboxing area.

Actually in series two of the Bush Tucker man series, there were three: the Perentie used in shot and two civilian 110 wagons. The original plan was that these two vehicles would be used as a promotion for JRA by way of a viewer competition when the series was aired. Unfortunately the ABC crew damaged the bodies so badly they were unsaleable. Both vehicles were purchased by Peter C from Bowral, one he sold to his neighbour and AFAIk that one now lives in QLD.

The other has been onsold, is unregistered and stored at Chipping Norton, the image below is it stored elsewhere about two years ago.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

malcom douglas had one the same colour.serviced at moorbank.

i ran it through the water test to wash off the red dust.

it was 49.000 that they did publicity pictures. as it was after the first 1000.
bush tucker vehicle was built with alsorts of other odd bods.about the same time.

the number plates don't run in sequence and they sometimes got mixed up.

I was at Moorebank & saw/worked on MD's 110 in the workshop at the back of the main shed a few times. It was blue though, not green. IIRC, he had a fiberglass croc on the roof rack on one visit.

I also did some of the prep work on the Army 110 which JRA had Caldwells paint white for Les Hiddens.
