    Yellow disc

Sorry if this appears a silly question but I honestly don't know. What is the purpose of the yellow disc on the front of military vehicles and trailers.

    Thanks

    Usual markings & signs on Series 2 & 2A:
    1. Unit Marking tac sign
    2. Army Registration Number plate
    3. Bridge Weight Classification plate
    4. Divisional / Formation tac sign

Yep, a bridge plate. Shows weight classification for the vehicle. Sme weren't marked - like osome 101's - I believe that although the bridge plate was fitted, they were being phased out around that time, so some didn't get marked - could be mistaken there though.

I met a nice man (ex-army) in Hardware & General Hornsby last year (Hector Gonzales I think his name was). Anyway he was mad for Perenties and I seem to recall him mentioning that the position of the yellow disc on army trailers is used by army personnel (particularly instructors during driver training) as a guide to the limits when reversing the trailer (i.e. to avoid jack-knifing). Note to self - I must try it out with my trailer.
