Perentie log book says 'engine replaced' in 2006. Anyone know anything about this?

Hi all, the army log book that came with my Perentie says the engine was replaced in 2006. The only info it gives is the new engine number... Does this mean a brand new or rebuilt engine was fitted? or did they put in whatever they had lying on the floor that was running? I'm curious about the kms the engine has done. If it was a new engine then that would mean it has only done around 18000 kms. It is an FFR model and was painted in the lighter desert tan instead of the darker brown so I'm thinking maybe they rebuilt it and then it was deployed oversees in the middle east.. MAYBE?

Thanks in advance for any input.

A replacement engine would have been a crated rebuilt engine that would have been rebuilt by a specialist. They came complete with pump, alternator and starter.
Usually they are painted completely black. It’s not even run in at 18k km!

FWIW,the local LR indie here used to rebuild the Transfer cases and gearboxes.
Often there would be nothing wrong with them.
Worse ones were full of water.

Once rebuilt, the were crated and sent back to them.

Thanks for the input guys. That's what I was hoping to hear
The car itself has only 50k on it with extensive maintenance history and will be up for sale soon that's good to know.
