Also I can't seem to find/open the attached images.
thats about what that costs...
steering boxes are around $1400 and its about 4 hours worth of labour if nothing fights
Lines from pirtek are around $400 for all of them
the hardware for the whole 9 yards on a swivel rebuild is around $1k and depending on how hard and which side it is around 10 hours of labour.
your major variations on the prices are..
1. are you using brit parts as opposed to something that wont have you redoing it again in 6 months
2. the labour. So far as Im aware Im about the cheapest mechaniac I know of and at a guess using the KLR parts catalogue and assuming the swivel housing ist a complete basket case and just needs a new swivel ball , bearings and seals with no need to do the hub stub or the swivel housing itself I'd poke a guess at $3.5k
Thanks - I appreciate that. I am hoping KLR has some parts available for less but also that it's not as bad. My mechanics are good but KLR has better access to parts. I assume they'll use the best parts to last the distance. It is about five years since they put my power steering in. Where are you based?
