I wanted to get rid of the Defender wheels on my Cooks trailer and fit alloys from a Land Rover D2 - so I didn't have to carry two spares. I bought a good quality adapters from the UK and due to the size of the trailer hub opened up the centre of the adapter to 76mm on the lathe. Next issue was the size of the bearing dust cap preventing the wheel going on. I took it of and the wheel fits perfectly as the crenelatted nut inside is much smaller that the cap. I now have to seal it some how. Has anybody done this? I can make some caps and silver solder a different profile, but if I can get off the shelf it would safe me heaps of time and effort.
