    No.5 Trailer

I’m hoping to pick up a No. 5 trailer here in NZ this weekend. The owner has cut out the floor due to rust. Having looked at some on-line specs etc it looks like the floor was 2.5mm steel plate. I may replace it with 3mm, but would value anyones thoughts / experiences. Any other thoughts will also be gratefully received. Will cost me NZ$400.

Agree - good for the price. New floor isn't hard - looks like it needs tyres as well. Not sure on the regs over there but they are only good for 750Kg GTM as they have no brakes. I'd tend to go lighter in the floor steel just due to this as you'll get more in it then.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

Thanks mate, I was going to ask the question on here but you gave this so all good. I was looking at one for $1200. Too light in payload as looking for a 1-tonner for carrying 1000 litres of water. Will look elsewhere.

A good score for $400. Did you eventually buy it? Prices I have noted for similar condition ones are in the region of $800-1500.
