The hard top can 'handle' on the roof what your driving style and terrain allow. I have personally had a full length roof rack, solar panels, aluminium fishing table, spare tyres, bedding, crab pots, and a substantial boat upside down on the roof of my 'survey' hardtop. The back was loaded with a large honda powered snap freezer (takes up half the load space) and outboard and fuel, food, camp gear, and water drums and other crap like barbecue plates and bits going up the cape and across to the gulf. No idea how heavy but interesting to steer. Like a sailing boat:D.
Anything you can take off the roof and put inside the better:p.
Cheers,
Brian.
