haha the back ends of the 6x6's being made out of ali makes sense.
I was thinking it would be massively overkill if it were steel.

I did see the warning sticker which stated driving over 80kph will cause hearing loss. surely you could quieten it down with some sound deadening?
and 20L per 100kms? that seems excessive, what kind of mileage will a 110 give you then? or is that figure a army estimate on fuel usage with the worst case scenario (headwind, sand, ect.) to be sure they never run out?

I don't think I will be buying a 6x6 anyway. They are a bit big.
My next travels will involve shipping containers and I think the size might be a killer for that without changing the tray all together.

Unfortunatly its not an estimate and the best sound deadening is applied directly to the ears

It's actually best case scenario (highway driving quoted as 600Km on 2x 64lt tanks) Sand driving economy would recall the famous line "If you need to ask, you can't afford it".

    5 k's /lt for the 6by on bitumen and having just driven 600k's with a 110 + No5 trailer I averaged slightly under 9 k's /litre

    5km/l=20l/100km
    9km/l=11l/100km

You know, 20l/100km is what they reckon I should be getting in the 101.

But it wouldn't be anywhere near as much fun as a 6by though!

That's what it is, and that is the licence required to drive it.
