That's a shame, I'd expect it to be decommissioned, and I guess they are a hard item to stop of the drivers having a bad day. But to be used for target practice doesn't seem right. Plenty of old cars for that carry on.

Yeah, if you want to see them up close and personal, then get along to the tank museum at Puka at some stage. There are plenty there, including a bridge laying unit - it is huge...:)
We used to live near this place when he first started :) Tanks Alot, Tank Driving, Tank Driving Gift Vouchers, Corporate Tank Driving Events
He seems to have expanded a bit since then which confirms it was a great idea at the time. Maybe there should be something similar over here ;)
Yeh Jerry I think almost everyone would or is impressed by a tank. To have a bit of land and perhaps sell joy rides may cover the fuel cost at least.
Been watching some youtube on what tanks can do. Just amazing really that 60T can hammer along at 80km/h and let go a round over a jump.
To maintain a tank properly, you do at least 5 hours maintenance for every hour of operation. Tank spares are expensive and getting hard to acquire.
Kinda takes the shine off owning and operating a main battle tank.
