That is a good bit of footage of a running Cent, The last time I had any thing to do with a Cent was at the School of Armour LAD where we had a running Tug Tank and a non running MBT, a collector in Melb I think was going to swap a Dingo Scout car for a running Cent, after the turret change the cent was ready to go, the only problem was the starter motor was dead as it had been sitting in water for a long time, so I had to tow start it with the ARVM, Our young RAEME OC came out once we had it running and wanted a drive, After coming down the tank strip towards the tank wash the old girls brakes were almost non existent, as the Cent rolled towards to compound was not lined up with the gate, at a walking speed the Cent took out 10mts of a new fence plus the gate, as the School of Armour was pretty new then , needless to say the duty roster had a change for the next week or so as the CO was not impressed , After the swap was done with the Dingo I thought we were ripped off, But the Dingo is a pretty rare Veh
Man that looks awesome!
Awesome, for sure!
How many MPG does one of them get?
From memory with its petrol engine, going cross country, it was somewhere in the order of 3-4 Gallons per mile, not Miles per gallon......
So a vast area under that armour has got to be fuel tanks then  Well, that's if you want any significant range....
Friend of mine was an an army base here in the UK as was doing some work for them. Had been invited down to see some tanks in 'action' and go for a ride. Not an offer that is made every day and one not to pass up.
Day was going well and was returning from the tank ride when there was suddenly much shouting and gesturing many bad works being used. Was only when the tank commander was on the ground in front of the tank crying that my friend found out what it was all about. The tank he was in had managed to back up and make a turn over my friends car. Insurance company did not believe him when phoned in the claim.
