    Military vehicles for sale.

A well known paddock full of vehicles, military, tractors ,steam engines and stationary engines is to be auctioned at Bookham just west of Yass.
Many people over the years have tried to buy stuff from the owners in the past and nothing has ever been sold until now.
I know one of the owners and he rung me to spread the word about the auction.
I have never visited the site and I am only going on the owners descriptions.
There is no reserve on anything.
Military stuff lists something like this.
    1x Austin champ.........rough condition
1x Wiles senior cooker trailer.......rough condition.
    3x WW2 jeep trailer......rough condition.
1x Bren gun carrier.......looks mostly complete and another cut up a bit and could be in complete......if you purchased both up would get a complete Bren when restored.
1x CJ3B jeep with hurricane motor
    1xWhite scout car....incomplete ????
    1x Humber one tonne exarmy,,,,stored outside.....rough ?condition.
Many early model landrovers,,,stored out side.
1x early Monkey face Blitz truck
3x jeep chassis, and engines.....good for spares and a few others stored under cover which look pretty good
1x ferret scout car.......been siting for a long time,,,,,,was just driven and parked in the paddock
1x humber one ton truck,,,,,,been under cover and suppose to be in good condition.
2x DUKW.....duck amphibious truck....both rough.........may have enough parts to restore one good truck.
1x Celarc high speed WW2 tracked tractor.......rough condition.
1x radar/radio trailer dog trailer, with some radar/radio equiptment inside.
    much, much more.
Many stationary engines...too many to list, most still have the magnetos in place.
Many portable steam engines and one traction engine.
The traction engine still has brasses in place and the guage, boiler unknown.
    Many , many tractors.
    1x forward control Jeep 4x4.....rare.
If you are after a project or need parts, this may be for you.
Many people for many years have been trying to get some of this stuff.
The time has come and the lot will go.
    2x 6 cylinder rolls Royce motors,,in crates??????
2x 4 cylinder rolls Royce motors in crates?????
1x ferret transmission.......was taken out of crate and just left out side in paddock
the list just goes on and on.
    check out this web site.
I believe it will be up graded with more photos soon.
Wish I had some money and more time.
    Humble army truck nut

Thanks for posting Ron, I've seen that place grow in "assets" over the years

IIRC the present highway has swallowed the paddock that he once had all the stuff in, he must have had to move a lot at one stage

In the 60s and 70s, Bookham used to mean "book 'em" and many a speeding fine was raised there by the boys in blue before the days of "points".

The sales will sure attract the old machinery guys - the LRs in the miscellaneous section look quite sad

I had seen this posted elsewhere as well, I don't want anything from the auction, but it would be a great day there just looking, as I used to stop and look at every time we went south along 'Sesame street', cheers Dennis

We were fortunate enough to spend a morning looking through there a couple of years back. Plenty to look at, the Humber One Ton in the back of the shed appeared to be untouched since the army sale's in the '60's, very rare to find one of these in such good original condition. Unfortunately I doubt that many of the lots will be up to that standard due to the Blue Sky storage, but an interesting day in October coming up.
    Rich.
