From the records you now know its Australian army rego number.
One of the things you can do is look on line for any old pictures with a jeep with the correct rego number painted on the bonnet etc.
Again the Australian war Mermorial has a large collection of WW2 photos with vehicles as the main feature or in the back ground.

Interesting, a AWM photo from Lae, New Guinea, in 1944 with the Jeep 5th from the left only 500 different ARN from mine. 79439 is in the same batch in the Army vehicle log as mine. There are at least 3 Jeeps there with low (5 digit ARNs) but I need the high res image to make them out. Interesting that these early 1942 ARN Jeeps found their way to New Guinea in 1944.
