A colleague used to ask for Jeep parts - "not stocked" was the reply. Figured out to just rock up with the parts - "Ahhh, that's from a x Toyota, isn't it?" became the reply. Wonder if it's the same for early Nissan.

Hence Landcruiser. (Remember that the traditional Rover car badge is a bow-on view of a Viking ship).
Suzuki also John, with their early Four Wheel Drive range.
The LJ stood for "Little Jeep" in the LJ20, LJ50, etc., plus they had a similar bar type grille.

I wonder why it has a high bonnet if it is a sidevalve engine? Unless they were allowing for a future engine upgrade.

Just to get even weirder Google Myanmar Mazda Jeep.

I have seen these in Myanmar and I think they may still be produced.

They have what looks like a Vanguard engine with wait for it an Updraft Carburetor. I had a look under the bonnet of one.
I met General Maung Maung on many occasions and he loved to regale me with tales of his WW2 Jeep that he got his staff to fit a V8 out of a Bren Carrier to. He was the bloke who started the 1947 Student uprising by blowing up the student union building.

An engine similar to Vanguard (I'm reliably informed not the same as Vanguard) was used in the Grey Ferguson tractor which has an updraft carburettor.
