    Or maybe you live in a place that gets too cold! I never encountered this issue in the many years I ran bias tyres, except very rarely in very cold weather.

    That may very well have been the problem, Its much warmer where I live now so hopefully don't experience the issue, in the Power Wagon.

    Crikey Don, I still have nightmares from sliding sideways down a slope with absolutely no grip from the bar treads. It was probably a good thing really because if they had any sideways grip we may have dug in and rolled. Eventually we came to rest against a tree.

    Terrible tyres on bitumen, suicidal in the wet and as you say square for the first couple of K's. Great traction going ahead but no sideways grip at all. Unsurprisingly the military gave them the flic and went to the old NATO pattern tread which were a much better, safer and more comfortable tyre but still with good 'agricultural' properties.
