Thanks to Richard, he sent me a copy in which I have casted in aluminium, and this is how it turned out. One is painted and the other raw.

All up, it seems a good package for the price. The software is brilliant, and the more I use it, the more I like it. Like anything, it is taking a bit of time to get used to.
The machine itself is pretty good. Width of material is limited, obviously, but the software will work things out to let you go to unlimited lengths.
About my only criticism of the hardware would be that the bed is not 100% flat. There seems to be a low point on one of the corners. It isn't a problem when working with larger (thicker) material, however, when I am engraving on 2 or 3 mm thick stock, the difference can be noticeable. I am going to borrow a laser level to get it spot on, and then things will be good again.
