Thanks to Richard, he sent me a copy in which I have casted in aluminium, and this is how it turned out. One is painted and the other raw.

And I have to say that I love them!
Well done Crash, awesome work ;)
A good friend of mine tells me that he is often bored, and I keep saying to him, You need to get a hobby man-why don't you buy a Land Rover!
There is so much to do you'll never be bored, and when the car is right,:p there is all this other cool stuff you can do too:cool:. Don't have to work on the car ALL the time....
Ok, so there is nothing like overkill...
:D

And please excuse the slight oops on the left of the oval, which, you didn't see until I mentioned it... ;)
The machinist in me went straight to it thinking you had made some fancy addition ;)Quote:

Good work though! What machine and software did you end up getting?
Thanks for that. :D
The software is V Carve Pro, which came with the Shark HD CNC.
All up, it seems a good package for the price. The software is brilliant, and the more I use it, the more I like it. Like anything, it is taking a bit of time to get used to.
The machine itself is pretty good. Width of material is limited, obviously, but the software will work things out to let you go to unlimited lengths.
About my only criticism of the hardware would be that the bed is not 100% flat. There seems to be a low point on one of the corners. It isn't a problem when working with larger (thicker) material, however, when I am engraving on 2 or 3 mm thick stock, the difference can be noticeable. I am going to borrow a laser level to get it spot on, and then things will be good again.
