A few more
The last photos, hope you enjoyed them.
Hi disco man and thanks for the pics.
I didn't go to the Maritime Museum but did visit the Museum of Tropical Queensland yesterday and witnessed an excellent display and story of the Pandora on its fateful trip to find the Bounty.
No photos I'm afraid as I find it too difficult to photograph museum displays with my limited equipment.

I've loved model ships for as long as I can remember. I recall looking at (and wanting) a model of an 18th Century ship in an antiques store at Parramatta back I when was about 11.
I still look and lust.

In the last set of photos the model of the aircraft carrier USS Lexington the whole deck is made out of matchsticks, and the deck would be just short of 3 meters i would say, its a shame my dodgy photo doesn't show how detailed the work is. The second photo right down in bottom left hand corner is a cabin cruiser made completely from matchsticks and is very well made.
Thanks mate.
You have inspired me to complete the
model of the RMS Queen Mary that I have had for at least 10 years thats still in it's box!.

Robbo
Photographing static displays in glass cases is difficult because of the reflections. Fish tanks can also be a problem.
Try a CPL (Circular Polarizing) filter next time, if you are using a Digital SLR camera, it may help cut down the glare, if you are using a compact camera, there is not much you can do, despite that, top photo's mate, I appreciate the difficulties.
