Sounds good to me. Thought you hit the throttle a bit quick on the curve though. I know I know, you discharged sand onto the track.[biggrin]

I hadn't set the DCC registers properly when I filmed this - I have the acceleration and deceleration set much longer now so it pulls away more prototypically. There are dozens of setpoints you can change and play with. It's not old school by turning up the power and the speed being equivalent to that. You'll notice I didn't actually touch the throttle - you can just see it at the bottom LHS when the engine moves off. I just commanded forward with a different switch, no acceleration or deceleration curves set, and it did its thing - made the sounds that locos make, then pulled away when it was ready. Only button I pressed was the whistle as it came around to complete a lap.[thumbsupbig]
Digital control is brilliant.[smilebigeye]
Chipping away at it. The wider back top is just sitting there, still have to do the legs and shelf. This unit is 740mm wide and will be where the main yard, turntable, roundhouse and yards will be.

And a shot from the end, showing the length I have to play with at each side - over 3 metres. This is where the mainline station will be.

Off to the Model Train show in the morning - I’ll post some pics when I get back, and it’s full steam ahead getting these based complete this weekend. 👍
Bloody hell! Not just a Sparky, an Aviation Enthusiast, a Caravan Rebuilder, but a Chippy to boot. How many more time wasting projects have you got on the go?[biggrin]
You do know you ain't left any space for a bed don't you?[smilebigeye]
Wouldn’t call myself a chippy, it all works but I’m not a woodworker, give me steel any day. Kids have moved out so their rooms are fair game now. 👍😁
I indeed have thought about it, but there are 2 problems with that - the first is that the adjacent room is the spare room and I need that for visitors. Second is that I still don’t know if I’ll sell or not in the coming months or years so want it easily removable if I pack up and move back to the country. 👍
