With insufficient space for a fixed layout, I came up with a 'shunting puzzle. The objective is to move trucks from one place to another with the minimum number of shunts. The box size is 4 feet long by 15 inches wide and 16 inches high, opening out to 8 feet for use. Fully DCC controlled, it also uses three Arduino computers to temporarily halt coal lorries following wires hidden under the roads and to operate the photographer's flashgun. Other features include a lot of lighting effects, motor driven points for realism, a chimney that smokes and a stationary engine with rotating flywheels. Almost forgot, there's also a Land Rover mechanics workshop. Here's some pics.
