I think your friends forgot to engage the centre diff lock, each time a wheel slipped momentum was lost.

Oh and the kids are welcome to ride as part of a team - at this stage there is a plan that there will be a separate kids track they will do their "stint" on.

I figured I'd post it in case anyone was interested in participating or even dropping in to have a look on the day.

There's even a decent little pub nearby (next to the golf course).
