Whilst I'm generally in favour of electric vehicles, these things have a top speed of 50km/h. So, too slow for traffic - guess where they'll end up being ridden? That's right, in the bike lanes where at 50km/h they're a menace to all the other lane users. We had problems last year with a guy riding an unregistered electric off-road motorbike at 60 - 80km/h in what are probably the busiest bike lanes in Australia. I think that the police got him in the end.

A you tube review of a electric bike suggested it would put my 600cc to shame in terms of torque and they may beat my range ( Getting about 250km only)
