Just for Ron here’s the other more recent addition to the garage.
Back story first:
Many moons ago when I worked for Her Majesty and was based in NSW I had a 750 Katana with the pop up headlight. Had some great times on that machine and plenty of fond memories, as well as moments of ‘how did I walk away from that?’.
Well that was sold and I gave up riding for quite a while (over 15 years) before the itch came back and I got the M109R - it had small styling cues of the front of the Katana in a cruiser format.
Jump forward to 2019.
My darling wife sends me a message with a link to Forbes magazine. An article in there “this years top 10 motorcycles” was the subject. “Take a look at number 7” was the comment.
So I did! It was a new Katana Suzuki was releasing, styles to give kudos to the older versions but full of modern underpinnings.
In the article it said, Can only be ordered directly from Suzuki online. Pay a $1000 deposit to secure yours and receive a custom Arai Katana helmet as a thank you. Nominate the dealer you want it sent to.
As I sat reading the article in more detail that night on the lounge, my wife looked over and could see me tapping away feverishly. Her only words, “You just purchased that bike!” I just smiled

I’ve added a few factory accessories to my liking as well as a personalised plate. Because I could

I couldn't imagine a Katana (new or original) in any other colour. I've seen pics of them in other colours but they never looked right.
Now to get the Tamiya kit, Mike.
