    Harley Davidson LiveWire

I heard the ad on the radio today about Harleys new electric bike
A bit of a google when I got home to see what it was all about

    2020 LiveWire Motorcycle | Harley-Davidson Australia

    2020 Harley-Davidson LiveWire Review | First Ride - YouTube

Looks like a bit of fun, for the two wheel enthusiasts
    Only it’s missing something
The trademark Harley “potato potato potato” sound
Being that they fought for the noise in court years ago I would’ve assumed they would have put a cable tie or something in the rear spokes to give it some sort of manly roarHarley Davidson LiveWire

    A $50000 Harley that doesn’t sound like a Harley

And driving the van, bikes always seem to sit in the left rear corner blindspot.
At times its only the noise that alerts one that they are there.

As I have ridden bikes I am very cautious when they are around, but many vehicle/truck drivers unfortunately are not.

The problem is - it is like all electric vehicles - the range. Be a great commuter but has limited range and where I ride no opportunity for fast charging, and sitting around waiting for it to charge -well not for me.
For 50K not my first choice and could buy 2 or 3 petrol burners for one LiveWire.

It's a Harley. By the time you've stopped and gone over it with the torque wrench to put all the bits back on it'll have charged up.

I wonder if they keep the wheels unbalanced so you still get the Harley Shakes?

Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman have just done a South to north on one each.

LONG WAY UP Official First Look Trailer (HD) Ewan Mcgregor - YouTube

Now all this rubbish about "loud pipes save lives" bollocks it does, I've been riding my whole life and I can tell you you don't hear a thing till that bike is either sitting right up your arse or right beside you if your not looking, you tend to see other bikes when you're riding.

I was riding yesterday and I had a Harley behind the whole day and I couldn't hear him till he was sitting behind me at the lights, or pulled up next to me.

I've been sitting in traffic and a bike has whizzed past me and never heard a thing till he was passed me, now following one is different.

I had bikes going past me all day and while I was aware they were there, you can see them coming but you don't hear them till they are right on top of you, which is usually too late
    Cheers Baz.

As a pedestrian about to step out onto the road, you definitely hear a motor cycle coming (unless your one of those dim wits with earphones in)
I’ll agree when your in a car or on another bike you don’t hear them but your focus is more on road anyway (well should be)
Pedestrians can be off in la la land skipping down the road dreaming of fairies until Gav 110 comes roaring up in the V8 110 (or a biker on a Harley Davidson) then you watch them jump

    Loud exhausts do save lives!!!

They're just a gimmick. Petrol power will be around for a few more decades yet.
